Number of time we scroll the channels just to avoid the annoying commercials and their seductive luring means, although optimistically speaking
commercials break are very useful, no joke, some time people wait patiently for huge
commercial break just to ease their tiresome legs and to avoid deep venous thrombosis and other long for
commercial break to help their bladder and even to lull their kids to sleep but is it justifiable to watch atleast 400
commercials a week ?
The next point in favor of commercial break! Commercials help in decision making they are informative and above all it’s a fun to watch a 30 sec or little more or less
commercial sequence but even a more logical point, is it necessary to watch the same
commercial over a period of six month or so?
Certainly not. Its consumer choice to skip those, sometimes noxious commercial, distasteful to their taste, in the era of stealth marketing and billboards littering the ecology of society one is often in catch 22. what is to be done?

In march 2005 TiVo tested pop up advertisement to select beta testers to explore new avenues inorder to generate more revenue and to ease tension between the marketing bigwigs and TiVo inc.
Bugs Fixation:
TiVo applied a static image ads technique to avoid the broken video stream, a wise idea but this idea drew strong criticism and TiVo’s life time member are especially fuming and arguing that they had already paid for a service based upon pervious add free experience yet other are lambasting that they originally purchased the TiVo units to dodge the advertisement. The early tester complained the pop-up detector was buggy, and would sometimes pop-up during unrelated commercials, or even during regular TV programming. TiVo is trying to address the said issue.
TiVo Graphics and pop up policy
The tool is tested only on Series2 TiVo owners, as software version 7.1 is required. TiVo officials say the size and placement of the ads may change, and the company is currently testing the feature with only one advertiser.
But only after the successful completion it could be applied to Series 1 and Direct
TV TiVo customers. Though Subscribers can't opt out of the feature, but the good thing is. They can ignore the tags.
TiVo took great care in selection of graphics and applied the usual intelligent approach to make
aesthetically cool pop up advertisement, the billboard like ads last over the screen for approx 4 seconds for a fast forwarding track of 30 second with thumbs up links for further information into the product being advertised, If
Viewers press the thumbs-up or select button during the half second the tag is displayed, they will be redirected to a menu that leads to more information about the advertised product.
Conclusion:
In nutshell, some user says running pop up advertisement over the commercials is not as much bad idea as watching the whole commercials and that’s the best bargain to watch a recorded program.
