Proscan PRD8630A & PRD8650B DSS Receivers

  • Both the receivers support the services from Direct TV and USSB networks.
  • Follows the restriction by macrovision and is product according to the FCC rules 15 & 68.
  • Program Guide: Both the receivers provide on-screen program guides in five different ways when you select from the main menu. The grid guide, the info guide, the topic guide, channel guide and attraction guide.
  • Grid guide displays seven channels per page along with the timings and titles of the corresponding programs.
  • Info guide shows five channels per page with timings and titles of the program plus a brief description about the selected/highlighted program.
  • Topic guide shows the topic list as movies, sports, news, specials, series and shopping. By selecting any topic will display only information about that category.
     
  • Channel guide shows one channel per page with program titles and timings and channel up and channel down buttons to scroll the page up and down.
  • Attraction guide shows the information about he upcoming programs and special events such as DirecTV ticket or pay per view. You can search, sort and filter the info and grid guides through six buttons. “Arrow down” button to scroll down the channels, “movies” to list the subcategories like comedy, action or thriller, “sports” displays your defined sport, by “other” you can create your own theme, “all” resets the guide to its original position and displays all available programming. You can also filter the grid and info guides using ”Sort” button.
  • PRD8630A supports multiple TVs.
  • User Profiles: User profile feature allows creating four different for four different users. Each profile can customize its own programming such as creating channel lists by “channel list” blocking programming by “rate limit” or “spending limit”. Moreover you can associate a password with each profile.
     
  • Pay-Per-View: pay-per-view programs are available in program guide and in upcoming in attraction guide.
  • Timer: By using timer feature you can schedule recording at your predefined time with a VCR.
  • Mail Box: the mailbox can receive 2000 characters of message from service providers.
  • New Access Card: the new access card wizard easily guides and upgrades the new access card when available.
  • System Test: By using this feature from option menu you can check your system if isn’t working rightly. Tests are performed on access card, signal, tuning and phone connection and a window appear after the test with message telling whether the test passed or failed.
  • On-Line Help: On the whole help option is always available in the main menu providing all the information about each feature.
The package for both receivers contains access card, receiver, remote control and VCR controllers along with jacks, cables and connectors. PRD8630A contains control signal extender for multiple TV support.

  • Supports DirecTV HDTV programming with multisatellite dish antenna.
  • Contains RF remote control
  • Five types of program guides
    • Detailed Guide: shows the five channels info per page along with their names, program titles and timings plus brief description about the selected program t the top.
    • Surf Guide: the guide works for DirecTV only and shows the seven-channel information per page with title and timing for next half an hour. Also the ratings and information about next two hours can be seen.
    • Grid Guide: shows the seven-channel information per page with titles and timings only.
    • Attraction Guide: provides information about upcoming special events and pay per view programs.
    • Channel Guide: displays complete information of only one channel per page with title and timings.
  • More Features:: Being an HDTV receiver, it supports picture in picture (PIP) feature and also the features like tuning and purchasing pay-per-view programs, mail boxes, system tests, timer, user profiles, online help and access card wizards are also available.
