Panasonic Direct TV Receivers not only supports the Direct TV programming but USSB services as well. Also known as DSS Receivers.

Direct TV Receiver Menu

The main menu can be browsed through remote or front of these Direct TV receivers. The menu lists advanced program guide, locks and limits.

Advanced Program Guide

Five guides are available in different schedule formats. They are topic guide, channel guide, attraction guide, grid and info guides. Besides main menu guide button is available on remote as well.

Topic guide lists the categories and shows the program's information of that category only. They are movies, sports, news, specials, series and shopping. Channel guide shows one-channel information per page. Channel up and down button can scroll up and down the pages. Attraction guide keeps you up to date about upcoming programs and special events. It also supports USSB service.

Gird guide displays seven channels per page with programs and timings. Info guide shows five channel information but with a brief description of the selected program. You can scroll down by arrow down button. Moreover there are five buttons to sort the guides. That is movies, sports, other, all and sort.

Movies button categorizes all available movies list like action, thriller, comedy, drama and SCI-FI. By selecting any theme will give you complete information about that theme only. In the same manner the sports button works. Other allows you create your own theme other than movies and sports. All button displays information about all available programming and sort provides more filtering options by taking you to guide filtering screen.

Direct TV Receiver Profiles

Profiles option allows creating and editing four different user's profiles. Each profile can be password protected. Rating limit option allows to block complete channels. Spending limits for restricting particular viewing. You can block a complete channel and pay per view programs as well. Blocked programming is available on password.

Pay Per View

By pay per view you can preview and buy a program. Select it from the advanced program guide, channel lists or attraction menu. You can purchase it from purchases menu.

Purchases

Purchases menu lists the purchases you made so far. Also lists the upcoming purchases. You can schedule, reschedule or even cancel a purchase.

Assistance

Assistance menu provides you all the help you need about your system. Menu system, program guide, remote control, front panel, back panel and even glossary every thing is here. More over auto help is always with each menu bar.

Timer

Timer feature allows you to record or even auto record a channel by VCR. Also tunes to a channel at predefined time.

Upgrades

Upgrades on features are available as time passes. You receive messages of upgrades. You can upgrade automatically or manually.

Options

Option menu gives you options for system test, new access card wizard and alt AUD. By alt audio you can enjoy other audio when available. System test check and gives report about your complete system.

Front end contains buttons related to user interaction with Direct TV Receiver.
  • Power to turn on and off the receiver.
  • Menu takes you to main menu.
  • Guide displays advanced program guide.
  • Info shows all the available information about an item, feature or program.

  • NTSC Out from Direct TV Receiver to TV better picture than UHF/VHF out.
