Sony DirecTV HD Receivers provide great deal of programming after Direct TV subscription. Supports all sort of analogue and digital programming. Provides DirecTV HD programming and is an ideal combination with DirecTV HD system.

Direct TV HD Receiver is a compliance based on FCC rule 15 and 68. Some of the programming is restricted by macro vision.

Package

The package contains Sony DirecTV HD Receiver, access card, remote control and two AA batteries. In cables it contains S-Video jack and cable, audio/video jack and cable, RF jack and coaxial cables, telephone jack and cable and component out jacks and cables. Also DVI-HDTV port and cable is included in package for HDTV support. Provides 90 days Warranty of parts and labor.

Front end of DirecTV HD Receiver

The front contains buttons that allow the user you interact with the DirecTV HD Receiver features.

Mainly a display screen shows the receiver's status as output format, output type and channel number. Display shows a banner containing station and program information. Format button adjusts the output format. The format can be any one of 1080i, 720p, 480p, video1/2, variable 1, variable 2, variable 3 and auto DVI.

The other buttons are self explained as power to turn on or off the receiver, menu takes you to main menu, guide for advanced program guide, select to select feature, exit and arrow ch to move channel up and down. More over remote control sensor is also there at front end.

Back end of DirecTV HD Receiver

The functionalities of back and front panel buttons and jacks are clearly written. The back end includes connections.

The jacks Ant In, Cable IN and Satellite IN are for respective connections to direcTV HD Receiver via coaxial cable (F-type). Out to TV to connect TV to direct TV Receiver, video out1, 2 for VCR or TV set connection and audio 1,2 for analogue audio from Direct TV HD Receiver to TV, VCR, stereo or HD monitor.

Use RGB/DVI-HDTV out to connect DirecTV HD Receiver to high definition television. Connect component out to Y/Pb/Pr compatible monitor. Connect Digital audio out from Direct TV HD Receiver to Dolby digital receiver or decoder. Use digital optical cable.

Attach your DirecTV HD Receiver to phone line through phone jack for Direct TV subscription. Authorized service only and access card slots are also at back panel.

Advanced program guide

Advanced program guide of DirecTV HD keeps you update with 3 day advanced programming. Numbers of customizing options are available. You can categorize by movies, sports, news or others. Other guide styles are available. You can create your favorite channel/station guides also. You can select guide from main menu or remote.

Locks & Limits

With locks and limits you can associate password with your Direct TV Receiver. Receiver status shows whether it is blocked or not. With spending limit you can set a limit on charges per program. Rating limit allows blocking specific rated programs. Pay per to block pay per view programs. Stations blocked blocks specific channels.

Messages & Purchases

With Messages option you can view any many messages from service provider. Purchases displays the list of pay per view event you have bought.

Audio, Timer & REC

With audio option you can change the audio of program if available. Timer & REC option allows schedule recording with VCR. Not all programs are available due to copyrights restrictions.

Adjusting TV Properties

Adjusting TV properties features provides four ways. Aspect Ratio, Screen Format, High definition Output Select and RF Output select.
