Reception

Panasonic Direct TV HD receiver supports all the digital and analogue signals from cable, antenna or satellite. The built in Direct TV plus Receiver receives Direct TV HD programming.

Menu

Select menu from the remote control to display roller guide menu. Roller guide menu provides five options as guide, lock, options, account, setup and timer.

DirectV HD Setup

Setup option appears itself when you start your system first time. With setup options you can select your service. Select Direct TV HD / ATSC / NTSC for Direct TV subscription and ATSC/NTSC for antenna or programming. Auto detection and configuration feature itself configures the settings.

Dish type, dish position and signal meter options allow finding best possible view for the dish. Antenna setup option makes this Direct TV Receiver to support ATSC/NTSC antenna or coble signals. Also provides the options for system test, access card and guide setup.

DirecTV HD Guide

Panasonic's HD Direct TV Receiver provides a very user-friendly program guide. The guide is available for Direct TV programming only (Direct HDTV/ATSC/NTSC mode). Guide's main options include channel list, direct channel entry, banner description, banner categories and grid.

Channel List

Channel list gives two options. One is "All CH" that displays all the available channels. Second is "FAV CH" that displays only the user-defined channels as his/her favorite channel list.

Searching Channels

Direct channel entry allows searching a channel by its number. The guide description banner shows icons associated with programs or channels. Each icon has its own description. Icons indicating description for Dolby digital audio, unread message, locked program or channel, closed caption and multiple audio tracks in a program.

Banner category option allows filtering the guide. This feature displays number of categories like movies, sports or news. Selecting one category shows subcategories. For example on selecting movies you'll have choice of selecting action, thriller, comedy or romantic movies. Grid feature displays the five-channel information within 1.5 hours of programming.

DirecTV HD Locks

Lock option allows five options. Password can change password associated to any feature. Movie limits feature allows rating limits on movies only according o MPAA ratings. TV limits allows rating limits to block TV programs. Ch Locks allow blocking a complete channel. Spending sets spending limit on charges per program.

Account

Account feature allows two options. Purchase indicates the past pay per view purchased programs. Future purchase displays the list of pay per view programs you have scheduled that not yet aired. You can schedule or reschedule a purchase. Messages display the any information send by the service provider.

DirecTV HD Options

Options feature allows number of options. Audio allows changing the program audio when available. Clock allows you to adjust the system clock. With Sat/Loc Mode you can change the tuning mode. The modes can be local tuning mode and satellite tuning mode.

About displays manufacturer's information. The information can be product description, date, version, model and serial number of Direct TV HD Receiver. Timer allows auto tuning to a channel or automatically turn on and off the receiver.

Caption enables closed captioning. Direct TV HD Receiver contains built-in decoder that provides the visual display for audio. The television displays this program only if closed caption is provided.
