DirecTV HD Receivers support all the digital and analogue programming. Works ideally with multisatellite dish antenna and HDTV for DirecTV HD Programming.

DirecTV HD Receiver Package

Besides DirecTV HD Receiver the pack includes power chord, Access card, user's guide, RF/IR Remote control with two batteries and RF Remote antenna. A/V cables, S-Video cables and component video cables are also included. Also contains phone cord for services like pay per view. Package includes 90 days warranty including parts and services.

Connections

For HDTV use HDMI jacks and cables. HDMI cable carries both video and audio. DVI jack and cable can also be used. DVI only carries video. It requires separate audio cable. Component video output cable provides a very high quality video for HDTV.

For digital audio output use either optical jacks and cables or coaxial jacks and cable as suits you. For standard TV programming use S-Video jacks and cables. S-Video carries only video, so it requires separate audio cable. You can also connect A/V cable and jack for SDTV Programming.

Connect the receiver to telephone line for Direct TV subscription. Telephone line cord is used for this purpose. Use coaxial cables to connect TV, Satellite Dish or OFF air antenna.

DirecTV HD Receiver Front End

The front end of DirecTV HD Receiver contains user interactive buttons. Front-end contains a Power button to turn on and of the Receiver, an IR remote sensor, Resolution button to adjust resolution and resolution indicator window.

A door panel hides the access card slot and reset button. The standard buttons Guide, Menu, Arrows, select, active, info and exit are also there on front panel.

DirecTV HD Receiver Back End

The backend of DirecTV HD Receiver contains connecting options. Satellite In to connect satellite and Receiver, Ant IN to connect off air antenna and a phone jack to connect phone to DirecTV HD Receiver.

Also contains connections for HDMI, digital audio optical, digital audio coaxial, audio and video for additional components such as VCR or Stereos, S-Video and RF Remote control antenna.

Channel banner

When you tune a channel or change it channel banner appears for some time. The time you can set from settings in main menu. Channel banner shows date and time, messages, audio options, ratings, program info and any special feature such as favorites.

Advanced Program Guide

Select guide from remote and enter the guide menu. It allows you to brows a great deal of programming by Direct TV. You can search by name, title or key word. Create favorite channel lists. Filter the guide according o movies, sports, news or what ever you desire.

Autotune

With Autotune feature you can tune to a channel at specified time. Also you can automatically schedule recording using this VCR.

Pay per view

Select a pay per view program and press info. This provides you the buying option for pay per view. Purchases option lists the programs you have bought in the past. Also displays the future scheduled purchases list.

Dolby Digital

Dolby Digital option in the main menu allows you the option for ON and OFF the Dolby Digital. Must be ON when receiving DirecTV HD programming. feature is available through HDMI or optical outputs.

Category Sort

Category sort allows sorting/filtering the guide in five categories. They are all, movies, sports, interests, lifestyles and news.

Find By

Find by allows searching the program or favorite show by title, person, keyword and channel. Also shows the recent find programs.

Favorites

Favorite feature allows you to create, edit and delete lists based on your channels. Favorite channel list description is available in the channel banner.

Date & Time

Just enter the date and time where you want in the guide. It'll take show those timing listings without browsing the whole guide.

Messages

With messages feature you can view any information send to you by Direct TV service provider.
