Direct TV HD DVR Connections

With completely off Direct TV HD DVR Receiver connect it with analogue phone jack. It is necessary for DVR and pay per view services. Direct TV HD DVR Receiver can work with any Direct TV Satellite dish antenna. To get Direct TV HD programming it requires multi-satellite dish antenna. Use RF cable for this connection.

For your HDTV and home theatre system connect audio to A/V Receiver and video cables to HDTV. For HDTV only, connect both audio and video to TV. Use HDMI or HDMI to DVI cables. HDMI sends both audio and video. DVI send only video and requires separate audio cable. Component video cable improves picture quality.

Use S-Video cable to connect with standard definition television or VCR. Only supports video so a separate audio cable is required. To connect Direct TV HD DVR Receiver with DVD Recorder or A/V Receiver use composite A/V Cable.

Watching Live TV

Watching live TV was never so cool. Watch live program, press pause button, go do some work, come back after 30 minutes and hit Play button to enjoy where you left. Pause or Play button display status bar. Status bar shows one-hour progress. Info button shows channel banner. Channel banner provides the information f current program.
Direct TV HD DVR Receiver's dual tuner allows you switching between channels without affecting each other. Both the tuners record the programs for 30 minutes. So you can watch both the channel programs with instant replay, backward and forward features.

Status bar appears at the bottom of screen when you hit play, pause, back or forward. In live program it shows one-hour time. In recorded total length. Green line shows the recorded portion and white mark where you are at the program. Channel banner appears when you hit info or change channel. Three sizes of channel banner as small shows current time and channel. Medium shows title, running time and ratings. Large include program description and some icons like parental control, channel.

Direct TV HD DVR Recording

Select a program from program guide and press record. Current program is being record at once. If it is later guide schedules recording at that time. You can reschedule or cancel it later.

Channels

The channel option in guide allows you to select of number of channel lists. All shows all channels. Favorites show only favorite channel lists and channels. You receive shows only the channel you are allowed.

Filter

With filter feature you can filter the guide for HD channels only. The other channels are displayed as gray. So it becomes easy to browse for HD programming. more over you can categorize the guide such as movies, sports, news or whatever you like.

Search

Season passâ„¢ allows the search the program by title or keywords. You can record on search or schedule recording using season passâ„¢. Now playing list displays the programs you have recorded.

Pay Per View

You can only buy pay per view events with telephone line connected. You can see the pay per view information in the guide in dedicated channels. Then you can preview and record as any other program.

Purchases

Purchases displays the pay per view programs you have bought in past. You can also see the future scheduled pay per view programs. You can reschedule or cancel a pay per view program.
